Health Tourism Industry conference will be held in Croatia for the second time from February 28th until March 2nd. During the Gala Dinner Awards in Rovinj, which is partnered with Croatian National Tourist Board, prizes will be given to the best European destinations in health tourism for 2017. The winners were chosen based on research Medical Tourism Indexand between all the participants United Kingdom received the most votes. Croatia will also recieve a special acknowledgment.
Leaders in Europe
The MTI (Medical Tourism Index) measures the attractiveness of a country as a medical tourism destination in terms of overall country image and environment; healthcare and tourism attractiveness and infrastructure; and availability and quality of medical facilities and services.
This survey included over 50 countries and the top 5 destinations in Europe are United Kingdom followed by Germany and France. Among the best ones, Italy (fourth) and Spain (fifth) found their place as well. Representatives of the embassies and national tourist boards will be taking awards during the Gala Dinner Awards in Rovinj.
Acknowledgment for Croatia
As a special acknowledgment Croatia will receive the award as an Emerging Destination in health tourism. This prize will be taken by Ratomir Ivičić, president of the Croatian National Tourist Board.
