Milan to host Italy’s first trade fair devoted to international medical tourism

A rapidly expanding sector of the world economy, worth between US$70 and 100 billion and growing by 20% per annum. The estimate in Italy alone is that 350,000 patients have travelled abroad for treatment. A systematic approach to maximise value.

Milan, February 1, 2017 – Milan is to host Italy’s first trade fair devoted to international Medical Tourism. The aim of the event is to develop a sector that combines tourism with therapy, targeting doctors and clinics, medical spas and thermal facilities, travel and HORECA professionals and patients. Intercare – the International Medical Tourism Exhibition – will enable supply and demand to meet, becoming a forum of excellence for exchanging medical progress and experience between countries, smoothing the way for commercial and medical and scientific exchange agreements between infrastructures and doctors.
